The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on tuesday set up a welfare board for the artists in the film industry. The board will be headed by state information minister Paruthi Illamvazhuthi and the board will look after the needs of about one lakh members of the industry. The setting up of the board was done as per the assurance that the CM had given to the industry for the conference organized by the All India Film Employees Federation in October this year. 12 Non official members have also been appointed by the state government to oversee the functioning of the board.
