Requesting to take necessary steps to protect Pallikarani marsh, Exnora International filed a petition to Chief Minister M  Karunanidhi on Tuesday. The organization has also suggested 30 methods to solve water shortage and prevent flooding in the city. Pallikarani Marsh, polluted by years of garbage dumping has reduced from 5000 hectares to 500 hectares. According to Mr M B Nirmal, founder of Exnora, " If the 5000 hectares of marshland can be revived, it will help arrest flooding and augment chennai water resources".
