The security in the Chennai Airport was stepped up as a result of intelligence reports that there could be a possible terror attack across the country on the Republic Day. Additional security teams from Central Industrial Security Force was deployed and the entry of visitors have been banned from the airport uptill January 31st. There has been strict check on all vehicles that are given access to the airports. Despite the security in the airports, the police has also beefed up security in railway stations, bus terminus and places where the common public gather.
