After a long period of bleak predictions, lay offs and pink slips, the IT sector has revived again to contribute to the growth of the service sector. Many companies have started recruting in large volumes and the pay packages have also gone up substantially. The consultants say that there is a great demand for senior positions and people with an experience of three to five years. The hiring has also gone up due the fact that the companies  had not hired for almost a year. Sriram Rajagopal, AVP, Human Resources, Cognizant, says that the focus has shifted from hiring in anticipation of future work to just-in-time recruitment.
