The dispute between the Ambani brothers regarding the gas processing by the RIL came to a stand still when the supreme court said that the understanding reached by both of them was not binding on the industry as gas was no one's 'private property'. Additional Solicitor General Mohan Parasaran said that Gas was a 'national asset' .“It is not the private property of RIL or RNRL and any understanding arrived at between them is not binding upon the government,” said the bench.
