Three firms of the Anil Ambani group namely, Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Natural Resources and Reliance Communication is under the scanner of the government for violating the external debt norms. The activities of the above three firms are referred to the Enforcement Directorate for non payment of penalty. The Minister for State Finance Namo Narain Meena in his reply in the Rajya Sabha said that the violations of agreement has been spotted in two External Commercial Borrowing transactions of Reliance Infrastructure which were 360 million dollars and 150 million dollars respectively. The minister also added that there was a penalty of Rs 124.68 crore which was imposed on the violations and as the penalty was not paid in accordance with the laid out roles, the firms was referred to Directorate of Enforcement (DOE).
