UB group to launch Heinken Beers in India [Monday, December 7, 2009]
Indian business man and the so called 'Liquor Baron', Vijay Mallya entered into alliance with Dutch firm Heineken to ditribute the beers produced by them. ''The new alliance will offer consumers a portfolio of national and international brands in India, including UBL’s Kingfisher and Heineken, the largest global beer brand,” , said a statement from UB group. The company also plans to work on expanding brand Kingfisher in other countries with the help of Heineken. The UB group now holds a share capital of Rs 37.5 in the foreign brand, while the original owners of the company posessed another 37.5 percent of the shares, leaving the balance 25 percent to the general public.
