The Tamil Nadu government has allocated around Rs 25 crores for conducting repair works and restoration works in rain battered Niligiris. The Chief Minister M Karunanidhi allocated the funds from the Disaster Relief Fund on wednesday. The monsoons in Nilgiri claimed the life of almost 50 dwellers and caused destruction to property, houses and cattle.The Chief Minister has also ordered a team of ministers to camp in the place and monitor effective restoration works.
