The government's fiscal stimulus package for the quarter of finanacial year 2008-2009 is adequate as according to C Rangarajan. Under the current conditions a fiscal deficit of 10% is also acceptable. Dr Rangarajan said that at times of recession, a fiscal deficit upto 10% of GDP was acceptable.
