Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Mrs Ambika Soni said that the centre would rationalise luxury tax on hotels to ensure uniform tax structure in the country. She was speaking at the annual awards distribution function of Federation of Hotels and Restuarant Associations of India. She requested the people in the hotel industry to ponder over the fixing of exorbitant room rents which has resulted in the skipping of visits to India by over 50,000 tourists.
