TN to be drenched by the low pressure zone over Indian Ocean  [Saturday, November 14, 2009]

The state is ready to face more showers with the formation of a low pressure zone over Indian ocean. The state weather forecasting department has predicted heavy showers, especially in the costal regions in the next 48 hours. “A low pressure has formed off Comerin area near Indian Ocean and under its influence rain or thunder showers would occur at most places over coastal Tamil Nadu region during the next 48 hours,” said the officials from Meterological Department in Chennai. The low pressure zone might also dampen Kerala, Lahshadweep, and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. The government has warned the fishermen to keep away from fishing in deep waters following the forecast.
