The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MLA P N Periannan passed away on tuesday after being ill for a  long period. The MLA represented the Pennagaram constituency and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. The demise of the MLA has resulted in the reduction of the strength of the DMK members in the assembly from 234 to 96. The DMK leaders condoled the demise of the MLA and has  postponed all party meetings, events and other functions for three days from today. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister expressed shock at the demise of the MLA and send his condolences to the MLA's kins.
