The DMK government successfully won the by polls held in the Tiruchendur and Vandavasi constituencies. The DMK candidates of both the constituencies won by a lead of more than 30,000 votes . The DMK has already won majority of the by polls held this year. It has won in seven by polls that had to be held due to various contigencies. The rest of the polls were won by DMK ally congress. DMK Chief and Chief Minister of the state Karunanidhi said that the success in the polls should be treated as an acknowledgement of the good rule monitored under the DMK government. Deputy Minister Stalin also congratulated the DMK cadres and winning candidates.
