Political parties urges election commission to enquire into deletion from poll list issue [Monday, February 1, 2010]
The representatives of various political parties in the state lead a delegation to the Election Commission to conduct an enquiry on the deletion of names of 25,000 voters from the electoral rolls of Pennagaram Assemby. The party representatives alleged that while the names of genuine voters were deleted, the names of DMK supporters figured in the list. The delegation claiming the same was lead by All India Moovendar Munnani Kazhagam president N. Sethuraman. The deputy election commissioner J P Prakash, who received the complaint said that he would forward the same to the Full Commission for appropriate action.
