The former AIADMK MP P Rajarathinam passed away at Tiruppur following a cardiac arrest on thursday. Rajaratinam was elected to the LokSabha when he held an AIADMK candidature from Permabalur constituency, defeating the DMK candidate A Raja, the current Union Minister. He was re elected in 2001 as an MLA from the same constituenct. He is survived by a wife and a three year old son. His mortal remains was brought to his residence in Tiruchi on friday.
