Karunanidhi calls for Union-state understanding to ensure internal security  [Monday, February 8, 2010]
   
 

                                  Reading out a speech on behalf of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Deputy Chief Minister M Stalin said that a mutual understanding between the union and the state governmnets are necessary for fighting challenges against internal security. He was speaking at a meeting of the Chief Minister's in New Delhi on sunday. Mr Stalin also requested the state government to provide the same security that it gave in the north to the coastal areas of tamil nadu. He also urged that the central government should bear the man power cost to facilitate coordinate action among the state and the central agencies. However he made it clear that the state was against the starting of any special intelligence wing and said that the state had already established various quick reaction teams in all districts and states.
