Tamil Nadu to consult centre before deciding on premature release of Nalini [Wednesday, February 10, 2010]
The Tamil Nadu state government told the Madras High Court that it would consult the Centre before deciding on the premature release of Rajiv Gandhi assasination accused Nalini. Advocate General P S Raman who argues for the state said that the state government is yet to receive a report of the Advisory board formed for the consideration of the plea. The case was then adjourned to February 19. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had made it clear lately that the premature release cannot be consented by the state government alone as it was also an issue of centre's concern. The matter was discussed as Janta Party president Subramanian Swamy challenged the single judge's order directing recostitution of the Advisory board.
