Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi welcomed the proposals of the Union budget and said that he gave enough importance to agriculture, education, public health and infrastructure. He welcomed the union ministers announcement of fresh crop loans for Rs 3.75 lakh during 2010-2011 and the extension of the farm loan waiver scheme. He also appreciated the provisions of the budget of Rs 1.37 lakh cr for social welfare projects, school education, health and public welfare etc
