AIADMK Chief Jayalalitha who visited Pennagaram constituency as a part of the by election campaigning said that the constituency lacked many basic amenities and the people were in distress. She called to the voters to defy the DMK rule.She called to the voters to facilitate a regime change in the constituency. In her speech at the assembly constituency, she said that the residents of Pennagaram had to migrate to other states in search of work and that it faced severe water shortage and power cuts which halted farming.
