DMK cadres now interested in AIADMK - Jayalalitha [Thursday, June 10, 2010]
Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief Jayalalitha said on thursday that majority of the cadres of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is interested in joining his party in interest of the nation. “A majority of DMK workers are ready to join AIADMK in the interest of the nation. This will be revealed soon. With the tireless working of AIADMK workers, it is sure that AIADMK will come back to power,” , said she. The turn of events was such that many former cadres of AIADMK, including noted leaders like S. Muthusamy (Erode), Anitha S. Radhakrishnan (Tiruchendur) and T. M. Selvaganapathy (Salem) left the party and joined the DMK. It is at this juncture that the former chief minister opined in such a manner. Clarifying her statement she said that the state was facing numerous troubles in the form of soaring domestic prices, water scarcity and power cuts. She also said that the public was concerned about the worsening law and order situation.
