Interest for test cricket not reduced - N Srinivasan [Saturday, August 29, 2009]
Secretary of BCCI, N Srinivasan said on Thursday that the interest for test cricket in India has not reduced despite the upcoming of the Twenty-20 series and all other new forms of the game."The interest in Test cricket has not decreased. Even today, if you have a good contest between two strong and evenly matches sides, the crowds will come." said he. He said it was not just a phenomena observed during the Ashes, but also in the domestic venues. "There was a big crowd on the final day of the India-England Test at Chepauk last season. Sachin Tendulkar guided India to a remarkable victory. There were security concerns ahead of the match but people still came."
