Marlar criticises indian Cricket administrators  [Friday, September 11, 2009]
   
 

                    Robin Marlar, former President of Marylebone Cricket Club said that cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar possessed the capacity to attract millions of crowd.He was delivering the Ranji Memorial Lecture at Nehru Centre on Thursday. He was highly critical about the cricket administrators in India and said “At present they (cricket administrators in India) were driven by financial consideration rather than the spirit of the game,”. The programme was attended by many dignatories including Gavaskar and his former team-mate Dilip Doshi, former England batsman Mike Brearley, former Pakistan basman Asif Iqbal, chairman of MCC Charles Frey and Zubin Mehta, well-known Indian western music conductor .
