Fielding standard of Indian team gone down - M S Dhoni [Friday, September 18, 2009]
Indian captain MS Dhoni hopes to do the best in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2009. The team will have Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid. Gambhir cleared the fitness test at the Bandra Kurla Complex under the supervision of the coach Gary Kristen. Virender Sehwag and Zaher Khan are not in the team due to their injuries.Regarding the presence of Dravid in the team Dhoni said, “It is ideal to have a batsman like Dravid at No.3 on tracks supposed to be helpful for fast bowlers. It becomes easier for the later batsmen to take off from the platform created by number three.” However the captain agrees that the fielding standard of the team has gone down.
