Former Indian Cricket Captain Sourav Ganguly is back again to resume the role of the IPL captain for Kolkata Knight Riders, replacing Brendon McCullum. The team has also decided to replace its coach for the next year match. The new coach for the team will be Dav Whatmore with Vijay Dahiya as his deputy. The former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram was designated as the mentor of the team. “The KKR management held several meetings over the past few weeks to discuss and plan the way forward for the franchise and the team. After weeks of careful deliberation, keeping in mind the vision and ideals of the team, the KKR management has appointed Dav Whatmore as the new team coach,” said the team management regarding the major reconstitution within the team.
