India emerges first in ICC Test Championship [Monday, December 28, 2009]
Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was awarded the mace for the International Cricket Council's test champions. The Indian captain accepted the mace from ICC Chief Haroon Lorgat on behalf of India. India outperformed South Africa to become the No 1 after winning the three test series against Srilanka. “I’m proud to lead a team that has translated potential into performance.It’s a very special feeling and reflects on our hard work over the past two years. We’d like to stay there as long as we can.”, said the delighted Indian cricket captain.
